Types of Lash Extension Glue

Behind every stunning set of lashes lies a crucial component: lash extension adhesive. In this guide, we will delve into the world of lash extension adhesives, exploring their types, application techniques, and important considerations.

Cyanoacrylate Adhesives
The most common lash glue. Fast-drying, strong bond, but may not suit sensitive eyes.

Medical-Grade Adhesives
Gentler and hypoallergenic. Slower drying with lower retention, but ideal for clients with sensitivities.

Hybrid Adhesives
Best of both worlds. Fast-drying + reduced irritation.
✔️ Our adhesives are hybrid — Rapid Bond is our #1 seller with no known sensitivities.

Fast vs. Slow Drying Glue

  • Slow Dry (2–4 sec): Great for beginners.

  • Fast Dry (≤1.5 sec): Best for experienced techs.

  • Black: Most common, blends with lash line.

  • Clear: Ideal for classics and coloured sets.

How to Use Lash Adhesive Correctly

Store Cold – Keep glue in the fridge.
Shake Well – By hand (30–40s) or with a glue shaker (10s).
Pour on Stone – Keeps glue cooler and fresher.
Burp the Bottle – Gently squeeze to remove trapped air.
Wipe the Nozzle – Use glue wipes (not cotton) before storing.

How Much Glue to Use

  • Classic Lashes: Dip and drag slowly through the centre of the glue dot.

  • Premade Fans: Dip just the base, tap to flatten.
❌ Don’t dunk the full stem — leads to stickies, clumping, and poor retention.

Common Glue Issues & Fixes

🔸 Blocked Nozzle? Didn’t burp correctly. Replace nozzle — don’t poke!
🔸 Lashes Not Sticking? Could be poor prep, too much glue, or wrong humidity/temp.
🔸 Getting Stickies? Likely using too much glue or placing faster than the glue dries.
🔸 Glue Dots on Lashes? Caused by bulb application or poor client aftercare.
🔸 Glue Curing Too Fast? Check temp, humidity, and bonder placement.
🔸 Red Eyes? It could be pad placement or glue fumes. Ensure eyes are fully closed.
🔸 Burning or Reactions? May indicate sensitivity or allergy — perform a patch test.
🔸 Dry Time Issues? Depends on the glue amount, humidity, and temperature.
